God Of Green Lights...

You know that feeling when you are travelling on a long road interspersed generously with traffic lights, and once in a blue moon, all the traffic lights turn green.. just for you.. just in time for your car to escape the torturous wait at the 'delayed green' signal..  just in league with the beloved BMW before you and the honking, arrogant pickup guy behind you gets left out.. everything in symphony and everybody at peace..
no stagnant traffic and no one taking sudden left or right turns.. no need to even think of thinking of the brakes.

Peace. And harmony.

That happened to me the other day. The God Of Green lights was kind and generous to me that day. That day I did not get caught in traffic jams. I did not spend all those waiting minutes cursing the guy behind me who doesn't get the fact that high beam is meant only for lonely, dark country roads where yours is the only car and you won't blind the guy(or girl, like me) in front. I did not have to fiddle with my rear view mirror to avoid getting a blinding headache. I did not have to ponder over the course of my unpredictable future.. or wonder how the very many number of instances where I had to step on the break are similar to the very many hurdles in my path. Only the foot on the break is not mine.

Just for a minute I lost myself in that peaceful harmony of flowing cars. Ok. Maybe not a minute. More like 10 minutes. But the point is, at the end of that time I was at peace with myself. I was ok with the red light that separated me from the BMW. I was ok with the wait for the right moment, where the light turns green. Because I realised, if there were no red lights, there would be peace for those ten minutes. But there would be choas later for all those guys waiting at the crossroads.

Like they say, if everything comes your way, you are on the wrong side of the road.

Why are things not happening the way you want them to? Is the way of the universe much better or is It just messing with you. Probably the latter. But knowing is half the battle won. Good things will come your way. You just have to wait for the light to turn green.

God Of Green Lights, Thank you.

Trust me..I have been waiting for the Green lights for quite some time now...and if I take the traffic - then its horrible here...and even if the green lights are on still u might have to wait for minutes and hours to cross that..lol!!!

If I take my life, then I have been waiting for that green light to go on Indpendently..but its always in the Red and smtimes in the Yellow (where I hope to start on and then again gets stopped by the Red)...Many a times, I wondered, was it the Green light in my life has burnt off its fuse...grrr...

Now, if I talk abt my Work..trust me..Its never gone Red..always green...with work flowing one after another...In a way, I am happy with this busy workschedule...days move faster and before I know, I reached Thursday today and its week end tomorrow..yippeee....

Hey, Ro, been missing u and ur posts and even ur comments on my last few posts, be it for a short period...got used to u, U see...so..now dont give these breaks..I need to read smthing in equal intervals..so keep writing...

You seem lucky Rohini. This does come by to all.In my case just as the vehicle cruises along and you hope you wld cross the junction the red signal comes on and then it is a series of red signals!
I liked the line " if everything comes your way, you are on the wrong side of the road" and it is so true unless one is extraordinarily lucky.
You write with ease and fluently too.

Oh yes. I have been prey to the Devil of red lights too, esp when you are in a hurry they seem to develop a fatal attraction to you.
I am glad you enjoyed the post partha sir and could relate to it. :)

Dear Rohini,
Good Morning!
God has His own plans and the right to change the colour of lights in our lives.
I learnt it in a very hard way...
''The wise man warns me that life is but a dewdrop on the lotus leaf''.
So I surrender at the Lotus Feet of Lord Guruvayoorappan and face all the three lights.
A thought provoking post.
Have a great day ahead,
Sasneham,
Anu
